The Value of Human Resource Management for Business Success (2)

A human resource management team is ultimately responsible for selecting the right candidates to fill the position in their business. This often requires testing, numerous interviews, and a detailed inspection of the qualifications that job applicants possess. Once this management teams determines the best employees to fill the positions within the company, they will then be responsible for maintaining those employees. Retention is a very important element when it comes to a successful business.

Human resource managers often add a high value to the company in which they work for by providing regular performance evaluations. This helps both the upper management and employees discover their strengths and weaknesses. Common trends are also identified by these evaluations. Many businesses base their training programs on the information that they obtain from the performance evaluation.

For example, if performance evaluations are given in a call center and it is discovered that the majority of individuals are having difficulty with answering a specific technical question, this is a trend. This trend will then be approached by additional training in this area. While this is just one scenario, many businesses work in this manner. Not only do they integrate these training concerns into new employee training, but they also provide gap training to current employees.
