When you work with your employees in a professional environment, you will often be presented with various problems. These problems may occur for a number of reasons. Your employees may approach you with answers, but it is important to handle yourself in such a way that the employees are able to problem solve in an effective way. If you constantly fix the issues that are experienced by your employees, they will never grow and develop.
When your employees approach you, seeking answers, reciprocate the question to them. Allow the employee a chance to reach their own conclusions. Some question starters that may prove quite effective include starting out by asking questions like where, who, what, when, and how. Many managers have even found effective methods of saying why without sounding as if they are questioning the overall mental capability of an individual.
